Links to stuff

Heather Wolpert-Gawron talks about the 5 most important skills students need, based on a survey she performed  The winners are collaboration, communication, problem-solving, questioning, and independent learning.  She lists 8 or so others, as well; I really like them, as well.

Dick DeVos talks to the Heritage Foundation about destroying public schools.  h/t Jamie.

Two things I see when I quickly scan these articles. The first article is a great list for the professional but nothing for the person who will continue to have all of the labor put on their backs, which leads me to the second article and how this secret "society" will continue to create a "have" and "have-nots" class. The "have-nots" will need a list to tell them what education they will receive because they didn't get into the right private school.

Yeah, "destroying" was probably too strong a word. I don't think the Heritage Foundation is really a secret society bent on taking over the world. Although, looking at their education policies, it would be tough to realize that. Your broader point about the "right private school" is, I think, right on the money.
